Portrait of Austin Lee McNeal and his wife, Rosalee (Moomaw) McNeal, from New Market.
The couple married in 1944.
Austin was the son of William J. and Sarah (Dove) McNeal.
He was a life member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church west of New Market, where he sang in the choir for many years and served on church council and Sunday school secretary. He retired from Mt. Jackson Farm Service in 1985 after 28 years of service.
Rosalee was the daughter of the Eddie J. and Mary (Funkhouser) Moomaw.
Like her husband, she was a also devoted and active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, west of New Market, where she served as organist for almost 30 years, taught the Adult Sunday School class, and was a life member of the Lutheran Church Women.
She was a former member of the New Market High School Alumni Association.
She retired after 21 years as a teacher's assistant in Shenandoah County Public Schools.
