Lucy was the daughter of James S. and Sallie Dora (Cook) Richard. She grew up on a farm in Maurertown.
She married Walter Richman who was originally from West Virginia. Both of them had completed the 7th grade. Together, they farmed and raised a family on Back Road near Maurertown.
Lucy left behind many children including: Louise V., Dora I., Catherine, Eliott M., Emogene, and Richard A.
