Their parents were Charles O. and Laura O. (Borden) Keller.
The 1910 census found the family living on Back Road in the Stonewall District of Shenandoah County. They lived with their maternal grandparents who farmed. Their father, Charles, was listed as working on his own account selling "Organs and Pianos". By then, both Charles and Rena were teenagers.
