Description

William D. Hollar, as a young sailor in his U.S. Navy uniform, with insignia indicating he was a radio operator.

He is seated beside his mother, Catherine R. (Fadely) Hollar, and standing behind him is his younger sister, Anna Mae (Hollar) Dellinger (1927-2007).

His father, Albert Aden Crabill, had already died when this photograph was made.

William graduated from Edinburg High School in 1942 and went into the Navy soon after.

His first wife was Jeanne Louise (Wolverton) Hollar (who died in 2007) and his second wife was Betty Wolverton.

Identified in 2008 by Nancye L. Bowman who graduated with William D. Hollar from Edinburg High School in 1942.
William's mother and sister were identified in 2024 by library staff using public records.
