Daniel Hottel with a mustache is seated beside his wife, Mary Alice (Hottel) Hottel who is wearing a lace collar on her dress.
Daniel was the son of Jacob Andrew and Anna Maria (Mort) Hottel. Mary Alice was the daughter of Elias and Julia Ann (McInturff) Hottel (Some records spell her maiden name as Hottle). They married on February 13, 1879.
The couple had ten children together: Walter Monroe Hottel, George Martin Luther Hottel, Viola Hester (Hottel) Shrum, Lula Hottel, Ella May (Hottel) McWilliams, Grace Marie (Hottel) Crabill, Annie C. (Hottel) Bly, Dora Hottel, Jacob Earl Hottel, and Audrey Lillian (Hottel) Stultz.
Both Daniel and Mary Alice are buried in Toms Brook Cemetery.
