Jesse was the son of Daniel C. and Mollie G. (Ritenour) Marston.
Helen was the daughter of Cleffer and Nettie (Saum) Hoover.
When they married in Toms Brook in 1936, Jesse worked as a fireman.
Soon after, they moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where Jesse worked for Thompson's Dairy on 11th St. N.W., in Washington D.C.
In the 1950 census, Jesse and Helen still lived in Alexandria with their 12-year old son, David O. Marston. Jesse still worked at the Dairy as a salesman.

Identified in 2012 by Phyllis Wright who had the same photograph at home. Helen (Hoover) Marston was her mother's 1st cousin.
