Virgie was a daughter of Isaac Casper and Mary Frances "Mollie" (Mumaw) Funkhouser, a farming family from the Madison District of Shenandoah County. She had several siblings.
Her husband was Daniel Pettigrew "D.P." Robertson (1894-1986).
The family lived in Fairfax County, Virginia, and Virgie worked for the County Government there as a public health nurse.
