Minnie was born in Shenandoah County to Robby and Daisy (Scott) Teets.

She married Jessup "Jesse" William Pryer (born 1909) in 1936, when both of them lived in Waterlick, Warren County, Virginia.

When Jesse registered for the WWII draft, he worked for the WPA.

The 1940 census found the couple living with her parents on Water Street in Woodstock. Ten years later, they were still there and both William M. (aged 9) and Christina Ann (aged 3) were listed as well.
