She married John Robert Wilkins (1918-2002) and the couple raised two sons: John Robert Wilkins, Jr. and Kline Monroe Wilkins.
She worked for the Shenandoah Telephone Company for 28 years before she retired.
She was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Woodstock.
