This photograph was taken shortly after she won the Miss Strasburg contest in 1934.
Christina was one of seven children born to Joseph Franklin and Lottie (May) Artz of Strasburg.
The family lived in the large home across from the Old Mill Restaurant. Christina graduated from Strasburg High School in 1931.
Her husband was Walter Umbreit, whom she met while working at Funk and Crabill 's Plumbing business in
Strasburg. He was a plumbing supplies salesman.
Walter's job led them to move to Richmond and then back to Winchester. After her husband died in 1986, Christina remained in Winchester.
