Glenn was born in Edinburg, the son of Thomas E. Barrick Jr. and Ida Elizabeth (Wakeman) Barrick. He graduated from Edinburg High School with the class of 1947.
He served in the Korean War from 1951-1953, after having trained as a Paratrooper at Fort Benning, GA.
His wife, Bonnie, was born in Woodstock, the daughter of Robert Lee and Marguerite Alice (Coffelt) Hollar. She and Glenn married in 1956.
Glenn drove a trailer truck off and on for 40 years, driving for Blue Ridge Poultry, Service Inc. McLean, Mason & Dixon and the longest with Consolidated Freight.
