Carroll B. Moyers married Ruth I. Zirkle in 1946. He was born in Rockingham County, the son of Herbert Benton and Kathleen Loraine (Knupp) Moyers. He was working as a garage parts manager and living in New Market at the time of is marriage.
Ruth was the daughter of Allen Sydney and Ada Blanche (Stroop) Zirkle of Strasburg. When she married, she worked as a beautician.
