Description

Photograph of the children born to James Knox Polk Hoover, a civil war veteran who was wounded twice during his cavalry service, once at Rudes Hill and again at Narrow Passage.

Identified are:

(back row) Florence (Hoover) Reedy, Cleffer Eugene Hoover, Maude (Hoover) Foltz, her husband William B. Foltz, Luther Hoover, and Homer Hoover.

(Front row): George James Hoover, Vergie (Hoover) Marston, Arthur Jackson Hoover, Minnie (Hoover) Dellinger.

Their father had died by the time this photograph was made.

There were two additional children not pictured, Elizabeth (Hoover) Miller and Frank Elias Hoover.

Identified in 2002 by Maxine (Wakeman) Burkholder, granddaughter of George James Hoover who had the same photograph at home.
Also identified in 2002 by Phyllis S. Wright, who was a granddaughter of Maude (Hoover) Foltz.
