Upon his discharge from the Army in 1955, Mr. Hottel became a police officer for the Nashua Police Department. He also worked in the sales division for McLaughlin-Mayflower Moving and Storage in Nashua for many years, often winning many awards for being the top salesman. John and his wife spent 51 years together and had two children: Pamela and Douglas Hottel.
At some point, they moved to Spring, Texas, where they spent their last years.
