Portrait photograph of Forest B. "Peanut" Bushong in his U.S. Army uniform and posed with his wife, D. Jane (Griffith) Bushong.
Forest was the son of Emory Franklin (1889-1949) and Elizabeth Sarah (Wisman) (1889-1972) Bushong. He grew up with three brothers on a farm in the Fairview Road area of Woodstock.
Jane was born in Front Royal, the daughter of Hollis Clarke and Nettie (Jennings) Griffith. She grew up in Toms Brook, became a registered nurse, and married Forest on Christmas Day, 1941.

The Bushong family lived northwest of Woodstock on what was known as the William & Milton Fravel farm.
They are buried in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.
