Russell was the son of Russell George and Retta Wise (Fultz) Clinedinst, a farming couple in the Edinburg area.
He enlisted in the Army in March 1944 and was a Private when he was sent overseas.
He was killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge on January 14, 1945.
He is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg.
