He married Dorothy (Smythe) Zirkle and had two children: a son, Denman, and a daughter, Anne Zirkle.

We believe this little girl is Joanne (Zirkle) Perkins because she appears in another photograph where her older brother, Lew Arden Zirkle, was identified.

Joanne was born to Owen Nathaniel and Audrey Adeline (Miller) Zirkle.
